My Blog MKV #2

I said that God is outside the purview of nature. How is it?

Let us see how the idea of God occurred to the human kind. About 30,000 years back human brain had not developed as of now. The thinking portion of the brain called Neo cortex was much smaller. Hence they could not make out how the females produced kids from nowhere. They started respecting and in fact worshipping pregnant women as supernatural beings.

In India the early settlers called aboriginals made some figurines of female goddess and called them Kottravai, Kali, Sooli etc. They offered worship and animal sacrifice to those female deities. In early Europe also female figurines were made and worshipped. Archaeologists in Europe found such figurines and called them Venus.  These figurines were depicted with big belly to signify pregnancy.

Even today in India special festivals called bangle festival is conducted to female goddesses in villages. This practice is akin to the bangle function done to pregnant women in south India.

This is how the god (goddess) worship started.

My blog MKV- #1

Existence of God, is it false?

This is my free thought. You may or may not believe me.

I told some time back that there is no truth or falsehood in life. Nature is the only truth. It changes as new things prop up.

Let us come to God. Only human being thinks and talks about God. Other animals do not think on God as we understand. This is because only in the human brain the neo cortex has advanced to a high extent, not in other animals. The idea of God has thus emanated in this human neo cortex only.

Nobody knows whether there is an entity called God in reality. But many people think about God in the world. It gives them peace of mind. They see God from different angles. Only a few realise that the idea of God is only manmade. Majority of people do not even question about God.

Therefore I say that God is outside the realm of Nature. Why so?

Will see later

Men & women equel?

Men & Women equal?

There is wide talk and debate particularly in India about the equality of men and women in the society as well as at home, While the debate goes on in elite circles and on the Internet space, we see in the news about ill treatment of women, domestic violence, and public assaults or rape by unruly elements of the society. Legal action is taken in such cases but justice is delayed due to the lethargic functioning of our judicial system. Consequently pubic outcry on the delay or inadequacy of punishment to the perpetrators of crime against women gets viral on media. Why this confusion? Can we spare some free thoughts on the subject?

In Nature men and women are made differently. They are designed to play complementary roles in life not only in the area of procreation of the species but also in the society at large.  This complentaraity is often misunderstood as male's superiority and female weakness. Indian religions (Hindu, Muslim, Christian all) have misused this misunderstanding and exploited women's position in the society. Accordingly male rule makers have composed religious literature to support their evil designs (Manu Smrithi for example). Religious leaders and priest class have used these tenets to create an unequal society in the past. Past kings and lords were hand in glove with the clergy in this societal malice. After Indian independece this anomaly was legally corrected to an extent but there are enormous short comings in implementation.

Let me give some examples. Frequent child bearing had confined women to the household and let the men earn their living. Now that the frequency of child bearing has come down in literate families leading to the coming of double income families, in such families equality of men and women is somewhat visible. Such families are fewer in number in some states. There the old customs are still

prevail.  For example there are Khap Panchayats decide the women's fate using male dominance as a yardstick. In some other states where the literacy is higher and widespread the situation is better.
